Respiratory Care Specialist

As a Respiratory Care Practitioner at SSM Health, you will play a vital role in evaluating and caring for patients with respiratory therapy needs. Your primary responsibility will be to administer prescribed respiratory therapeutic services, ensuring the highest level of patient care and comfort.
Key Responsibilities:- Evaluate patients to determine the most effective treatment plan, taking into account their medical history, diagnosis, and current condition.
- Administer respiratory care services, including oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, and other modalities as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and communicate effectively with healthcare teams to ensure seamless care.
- Educate patients and their families about respiratory health, disease management, and available resources to promote optimal outcomes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement comprehensive care plans that address the unique needs of each patient.
- Associate's degree in Respiratory Care or equivalent experience and education.
- Current licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the state of employment.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification, if required by the state or facility.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
