Job Summary:

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a highly skilled Radiation Oncology Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Radiation Oncology department, you will play a critical role in providing comprehensive treatment plans for patients undergoing radiation therapy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement radiation treatment plans using computer and manual computation methods.
  • Verify the accuracy of calculations and ensure compliance with radiation oncologists' prescriptions and directives.
  • Document patient information and maintain accurate records in accordance with local and national guidelines.
  • Collaborate with radiation therapy, medical physics, and physician team members to design optimal treatment plans and positioning.
  • Perform quality assurance and documentation tasks for patients enrolled in clinical trials and studies.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with advances in radiation oncology and medical physics.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field, or Associate degree with active MDCB certification.
  • Medical Dosimetrist Certificate within 36 months of hire.
  • Board certification by Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB) or eligibility for certification within 3 years of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience as a certified medical dosimetrist.
  • Experience with Varian Eclipse treatment planning, ARIA electronic charting, and EPIC medical records systems.
  • Previous work experience as a radiation therapist.
