Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Practice Provider to join our team at Emory Healthcare. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our clinical services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the evaluation and treatment of patients, ensuring accurate and timely documentation of patient care.
  • Conduct patient interviews and document patient histories, psychosocial histories, health status, and medical problems or potential problems.
  • Perform physical examinations and specialized diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures under the direction of a physician.
  • Assist physician in diagnosing medical problems, developing care plans, and prescribing treatment.
  • Order, schedule, and/or perform laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures as needed.
  • Communicate with patients regarding scheduled procedures, preparation, nature, and anticipated effects.
  • Collaborate with physicians to arrange consultations with or referrals to other medical professionals or community services.
  • Provide patient education on health habits, self-examinations, behavior management, and other medical or health-related issues.
  • Participate in professional development activities, including educational in-services and professional organizations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical assessments, interventions, and evaluations.
  • Collect and interpret diagnostic data to implement appropriate care plans.
  • Prepare statistical reports and analyses of research projects and investigational protocols.
  • Train and teach other healthcare professionals in techniques and procedures unique to specific settings.
  • Participate in organizational health services committees and perform related responsibilities as required.
Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant program.
  • Current licensure as an advanced practice nurse in the state of Georgia and certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
  • At least one year of direct experience in one or more high-acuity clinical specialties.
  • BLS, ACLS, and Healthcare Provider certifications required.
