KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Set and strive to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
  • Recruit, train, motivate, and evaluate the performance of all parts department personnel.
  • Develop and manage the annual operating budget for the parts department.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet the needs of the service department, body shop, wholesale accounts, and retail customers.
  • Establish pricing strategies for different customer segments to ensure profitability while fostering customer loyalty.
  • Determine and adjust individual parts inventory levels for maximum turnover.
  • Monitor inventory to reduce obsolescence.
  • Ensure proper tagging of all parts for full credit recovery from manufacturers.
  • Oversee stock ordering processes.
  • Implement and enforce policies regarding special orders and ensure stock orders meet management agreements.
  • Analyze monthly sales, expenses, and inventory to achieve profit targets.
  • Develop and manage a robust wholesale parts program to drive profitability.
  • Guarantee high-quality service levels for both external and internal customers.
  • Collaborate with the service manager to ensure timely parts availability for internal operations.
  • Participate in management meetings.
  • Evaluate departmental operations and storage configurations for efficiency improvements.
  • Provide technical support to parts department staff.
  • Monitor payroll records for parts department employees.
  • Ensure efficient processing of paperwork.
  • Direct shipping and receiving operations for timely handling.
  • Review daily reports including DOE, DOC, and sales productivity.
  • Utilize a lost sales tracking report to identify opportunities.
  • Lead outside parts and counter sales initiatives, including a telemarketing strategy to maintain customer engagement.
  • Design and implement sales promotions.
  • Leverage manufacturer inventory co-op advertising opportunities.
  • Establish and enforce customer interaction guidelines to maximize satisfaction.
  • Address customer complaints promptly in accordance with dealership policies.
  • Ensure all dealership purchases are accurately recorded prior to payment.
  • Assist in the collection of overdue accounts.
  • Stay informed of and comply with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations affecting parts sales.
  • Maintain a professional appearance at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
