We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapist to join our team at ECHN. As an inpatient Physical Therapist, you will have the opportunity to work with patients who require rehabilitation and therapy services to help them recover from injuries or illnesses.

**Salary:** $15,000 SIGN ON BONUS

Job Description:

This is a rewarding role that involves working closely with patients, families, and healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans. You will be responsible for evaluating patient function, selecting and applying appropriate treatments, and educating patients and their families on how to manage their conditions.

In addition to providing direct patient care, you will also participate in interdisciplinary approaches to inpatient and community education, as well as the clinical education of affiliating students.

The ideal candidate will have strong English communication skills, both verbal and written, and personal computer skills with proficiency in Windows-based programs needed for department functions.

You will be expected to travel between multiple work sites and have access to reliable transportation.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited program of Physical Therapy with a minimum of a B.S.
  • Current Connecticut license in Physical Therapy.
  • Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Personal computer skills with proficiency in Windows-based programs needed for department functions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Evaluates patients based on departmental standards.
  2. Conducts and modifies evaluations based on the patient's symptoms, level of activity, and medical status establishing individualized, appropriate, measurable goals for each patient.
  3. Treats patients with the appropriate and acceptable therapeutic exercises (strength, endurance, coordination, and ROM).
  4. Administers physical agents (modalities) and manual therapeutic technique to relieve pain and/or attain established goals.
  5. Utilizes effective techniques to assist in normalizing motor activity and learning.
  6. Edits patients/families in home exercise programs and/or functional activities in order to maximize independent functional activity.
  7. Determines when a patient has achieved maximal benefit from treatment and recommends discharge if appropriate.
