Job Title: Physical Therapist, Outpatient SpecialistAbout the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Physical Therapist to join our team at ECHN. As an Outpatient Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate patients based on established standards to determine their individual needs and develop effective treatment plans.
  • Conduct thorough evaluations to assess patients' symptoms, activity levels, and medical status, establishing measurable goals for each patient.
  • Treat patients with a range of therapeutic exercises, including strength, endurance, coordination, and ROM, to improve function and alleviate pain.
  • Administer physical agents and manual therapeutic techniques to promote healing and achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and functional activities to enhance independent functioning.
  • Monitor patient progress, determining when treatment has reached its maximum benefit and recommending discharge as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with insurance guidelines and adhere to departmental policies and procedures.
  • Foster collaboration with interdisciplinary teams and communicate effectively with referring physicians to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Accurately complete and submit charges daily.
  • Adhere to professional ethics codes and prioritize patient safety to prevent injuries.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited program in Physical Therapy with a minimum of a B.S. degree.
  • Hold a current Connecticut license in Physical Therapy.
  • Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Personal computer skills and proficiency in Windows-based programs required for department functions.
  • Basic keyboarding skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) desirable.
  • Reliable transportation to travel between multiple work sites is essential.
