About the Role

As a Dermatology Support Specialist at Forefront Dermatology, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dermatology clinics. Your primary responsibility will be to provide exceptional support to our dermatologists and patients, ensuring a positive and efficient experience for all.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Preparation: Prepare patients for exams by gathering vital information, including chief complaints, medical histories, family histories, social histories, and review of systems.
  • Scribing and Documentation: Accurately document all information for the provider regarding the patient encounter, including physical exams, assessments, procedures, prescriptions, consents, operative/pathology reports, and letters sent to PCPs and/or referring providers.
  • Procedure Assistance: Assist providers with or under their supervision to perform various procedures, such as surgical photographs, biopsies, excisions, Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery, electrodessication and curettage, phlebotomy, phototherapy, injections, patch testing, instrument sterilization, blue light, and patient education.
  • Scheduling and Coordination: Schedule and coordinate patient appointments following company protocols, procedures, and physician schedule templates when applicable.
  • Continuing Education: Continuously learn and be able to explain new and existing dermatological conditions to patients.
  • Record-Keeping: Record required information on patient logs, including pathology, biopsy, lab, and temperature.
  • Compliance: Adhere to compliance and complete compliance training.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in a medical or clinical setting preferred.
  • Ability to learn and explain new and existing dermatological conditions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
