The Technology Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and facilitating comprehensive project and technical support for the Forsyth Dental Infirmary for Children (FDIC) staff, with a focus on the effective utilization and integration of cutting-edge computer technologies. This role encompasses the management of public cloud services, servers, personal computers, networks, and application software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading and executing IT initiatives.
  • Evaluating, identifying, planning, and deploying new or improved technologies in alignment with organizational requirements.
  • Recommending updates to operating systems, applications, hardware alternatives, configuration adjustments, security upgrades, and new or replacement products.
  • Coordinating the installation and deployment of new technologies.
  • Establishing and enforcing infrastructure protocols and standards.
  • Forecasting and managing resource needs for public cloud and server operations, including personnel, software, equipment, and facilities.
  • Advising on and facilitating the deployment of cloud infrastructure solutions, server products, and software.
  • Implementing standardized setup processes with team members and vendors.
  • Collaborating with IT staff to assess necessary infrastructure resources and application requirements.
  • Ensuring IT team support for new or upgraded technologies.
  • Creating setup and support documentation, training team members, and transitioning maintenance responsibilities for new technologies as necessary.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience with Azure resources, M365 resources, and Windows Server Products such as Windows 2018 or later; technology projects including Azure deployments, server enhancements, server setups; end-user technical support; and documenting technology projects and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Azure utilities and services, M365 utilities and services, Windows Server and related tools such as Hyper-V, along with a strong understanding of network principles and DNS.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Azure portal, M365 portal, Windows Server and integrated applications, commonly used server software, and Windows client applications.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently; troubleshoot and resolve issues in both Azure and M365 environments as well as on-premises; adapt to new Azure and M365 features as they are released; plan implementations; test new configurations; and lead a technology team comprising personnel, advisors, and service providers.
  • Strong problem-solving, project planning, analytical, customer service, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
