Job Summary:

This position is responsible for providing daily administrative and human resources support to the Community Corrections team. The successful candidate will assist with recruitment, record maintenance, and payroll processing, as well as provide clerical support to all employees.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide administrative and human resources support to the Community Corrections team
  • Assist with recruitment and record maintenance for payroll processing
  • Provide clerical support to all employees
  • Maintain employee records and databases
  • Coordinate meetings and events
  • Liaise between human resources and employees to ensure smooth communication and prompt resolution of requests and questions
  • Provide clerical and administrative assistance to the Human Resources Officer
  • Assist with time/leave maintenance and data entry into various systems
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Proven experience as an HR Assistant, Staff Assistant, or relevant human resources/administrative position
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Proficient with or ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications
  • Knowledge of federal, state policies and procedures related to Human Resources
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of management
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Hands-on prior experience with an HR system (such as HRIS or HRMS)
  • Familiarity with HR applicant software and resume databases
  • Knowledge of Department of Corrections (DOC) policies and procedures related to Human Resources
  • Working knowledge of timekeeping practices
  • Advanced knowledge in business, office practices and procedures, and automated business applications
