Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • Current TS/SCI clearance with CI polygraph at the time of application
  • Over 18 years of relevant professional experience
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related STEM field, or equivalent extensive experience as a Network Systems Engineer.
  • Proficient experience in architecting cloud-based systems.
  • Certification in network technology related to TCP/IP with a comprehensive understanding of:
    o The roles of devices within a TCP/IP network
    o Detailed knowledge of IP, ARP, TCP, ICMP, and UDP
    o Functions of FTP, HTTP, Telnet, and other TCP/IP applications
    o Utilization of Voice over IP (VoIP), email messaging, and multicasting
    o Troubleshooting TCP/IP issues across all network layers

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in network technology in one or more areas such as:
    o Configuring TCP/IP on server systems
    o Managing and troubleshooting DNS and DHCP services
    o Installing and configuring network and software infrastructure
    o Configuring and managing device routing and remote access
    o Monitoring and maintaining network infrastructure
  • Completion of a specialized course or certification in wireless networking
Responsibilities

Expert Network Engineers are responsible for planning and developing telecommunications solutions that integrate computer and communication technologies. They assess network options and formulate recommendations for enhancements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing, designing, testing, and evaluating network systems, including local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), Internet, intranet, satellite, and other data communication systems.
  • Conducting network modeling, analysis, and strategic planning.
  • Supervising the activities of Senior, Mid, and Junior-level contractor Network Systems Engineers.
