Job Overview:
The Patient Access department is seeking a dedicated Patient Access Representative 1 to join our team on-site at the UHealth campus. This role is crucial in ensuring a positive experience for our patients and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Act as a Patient Advocate and Service Ambassador, delivering exceptional service to both internal and external customers to enhance their experience.

2. Efficiently manage all on-site patient access registration tasks while prioritizing patient safety, quality service, and reimbursement processes.

3. Adhere to all established policies and procedures related to Patient Access and comply with State and Federal regulations.

4. Identify and collect patient financial responsibilities, including co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances, contributing to the reduction of accounts receivable and collection costs.

5. Perform additional duties as assigned to meet departmental needs.


Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum of one year of customer service experience; healthcare experience is advantageous.
- Bilingual skills (English/Spanish, English/Creole, English/French, English/Arabic) are a plus.

Skills and Competencies:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Excellent critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in cash management and mathematical skills.
- Familiarity with medical terminology is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Proficient in using various electronic systems and software related to patient access and billing.
