Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled School Psychologist to join our team at Fulton County Schools. The successful candidate will provide a continuum of psychological services to support regular and special educational students, as well as the overall school program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Consult with school personnel to identify students with learning and/or adjustment difficulties
  • Conduct comprehensive, psycho-educational evaluations, including review of records, formal testing, and observation of student functioning
  • Document evaluation results and complete required reports within Federal, State, and local timelines
  • Consult and communicate with teachers, parents, and school personnel regarding evaluation results and assist in linking evaluative data to appropriate student interventions
  • Provide psychological services through District, department, and school committees, including special education eligibility meetings and discipline reviews
  • Participate in decision-making processes to determine appropriate services for all students
  • Provide crisis intervention as needed
  • Conduct or participate in data collection and evaluation to determine the usefulness and effectiveness of psychological services and educational programs
  • Adhere to Federal, State, and local guidelines and policies in the provision of School Psychological services
  • Participate on Student Support Teams as an academic and behavioral consultant
  • Supervise school psychology interns as necessary
  • Conduct in-service training for school personnel, parents, and central office staff
  • Update and expand professional skills through participation in staff development programs, professional activities, workshops, and professional organizations
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in School Psychology
  • Must hold or be eligible for S-5 certification in school psychology; S-6 or S-7 certification preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the psychology field
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in administration, scoring, and interpretation of a wide variety of psychological and psychometric instruments
  • Thorough understanding of child development, special education, classroom dynamics, and instructional strategies
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks, projects, and responsibilities
  • Ability to apply critical thinking skills in rendering solutions to various District human resource issues
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
