Job Summary:The School-Based Physical Therapist Assistant supports the philosophy, goals, and culture of Constellation. This is a Monday-to-Friday position that follows the school calendar schedule.
Responsibilities:- Develop and implement intervention strategies using direct therapy, monitoring, and consultation.
- Conduct screenings of children and provide recommendations.
- Participate in the IEP process and engage in consensual decision-making with the school team.
- Communicate effectively with education personnel, administrators, parents, and community members.
- Document intervention, goals, and objectives accurately.
- Facilitate transitions among agencies, programs, and professionals as service provision changes.
- Supervise Level I/Level II fieldwork students.
- Identify emergency situations and take appropriate action to ensure child safety.
- Graduate of an APT-accredited curriculum with a minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy.
- Registered by the American Physical Therapy Certification Board and hold a Connecticut State License to practice Physical Therapy.
- Candidates eligible for licensure will be considered.
- Fieldwork in a pediatric setting is preferred.
