About the Role

The Weekend Director of Nursing is responsible for the overall operations of the nursing center starting at 5 PM on Friday until 7 AM on Monday. This position requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Report to the Director of Nursing and provide visible leadership in the delivery of high-quality patient care while achieving positive clinical outcomes and patient/family satisfaction.
  • Mentor, educate, coach, and discipline nursing team members to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver excellent patient care.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other medical professionals to ensure that care delivery is consistent with the mission, vision, values, and policies of Genesis HealthCare.
  • May also provide direct patient care to maintain skills and stay up-to-date with industry developments.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A graduate degree from an accredited school of nursing
  • At least one year of nurse leadership experience
  • Current licensure by the State Board of Examiners of Nurses in the Center's state
  • Maintenance of current BLS/CPR certification
