JOB SUMMARY
The Meat Production Operations Manager oversees all facets of the Production and Warehouse departments. This role involves creating, monitoring, and managing both expense and capital budgets, leading team members, and enhancing employee engagement within the organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Formulate and uphold production schedules to guarantee timely order fulfillment.
- Assess labor needs and optimize workforce utilization to meet production objectives.
- Coordinate equipment and team resources to support production initiatives.
- Monitor yield rates to ensure actual performance aligns with business targets.
- Oversee work order management, ensuring timely audits and closures.
- Establish performance metrics for departments to gauge productivity.
- Ensure metrics align with organizational goals.
- Benchmark performance using both internal and external data.
- Develop and manage annual departmental budgets.
- Plan and allocate resources to meet budgetary targets while achieving output requirements.
- Track actual expenses against budget forecasts, ensuring compliance.
- Direct daily operations and performance standards for Production and Warehouse departments, ensuring adherence to company policies and safety protocols.
- Guide and mentor Supervisors and teams to balance productivity, quality, and customer service.
- Foster a positive and safe workplace, addressing employee relations and participating in hiring, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions as necessary.
- Set performance goals, monitor progress, and provide constructive feedback.
- Manage team performance through motivation, delegation, and conflict resolution.
- Implement training programs as required.
- Collaborate with Human Resources as needed.
- Conduct regular team meetings to enhance employee engagement and communicate policy changes.
- Procure necessary materials and services.
- Identify and implement improvements across departments.
- Maintain visibility and availability across all shifts.
- Ensure a safe work environment through safety training and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Coordinate emergency response and crisis management efforts.
- Work with the Safety Department to enhance training, conduct safety observations, and perform routine inspections.
Education
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
Experience
10 years in food manufacturing preferred, including 5 years in a management or supervisory capacity.
