Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech-Language Pathology Assistant to join our team at North Kansas City Schools. The successful candidate will work closely with our Speech-Language Pathologists to provide support and services to students with speech and language disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct speech-language screenings and follow documented treatment plans and/or protocols developed by the Supervising Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Document student performance and report information to the Supervising Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Schedule activities and prepare student records, graphs, data, and other clerical duties for the Supervising Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Perform checks and maintenance on equipment, including augmentative communication devices.
  • Prepare materials, prioritize and schedule items, working independently to follow plans.
  • Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate effective human relations and communication skills.
  • Comply with all district rules, regulations, and policies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Disorders, Speech-Language Pathology, or related field.
  • Valid Missouri Board of Healing Arts registration as a Speech Language Pathology Assistant.
  • Expressed knowledge of the Ethical Rules of Conduct as set forth by the Missouri Board of Healing Arts and the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
  • Possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and physical attributes necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.
Working Conditions

The work environment is consistent with the typical office/school environment. The position requires a moderate amount of travel and physical activity.
