Job Title: Industrial Process Heating Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Process Heating Engineer to join our team at CLEAResult. As a key member of our Energy Sustainability Services business, you will play a critical role in supporting the Department of Energy's Industrial Efficiency and Decarbonization Office (IEDO) Cross-Sector Technologies (CST) program.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will have a strong background in process heating manufacturing technologies, including industrial furnaces and thermal processing equipment. You will be responsible for supporting the planning and management of the Industrial Process Heating RD&D portfolio, synthesizing and communicating research results to colleagues and clients, and advising on industry-relevant demonstration opportunities for decarbonization via thermal processing technologies and processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the technical subject matter expert for industrial process heating and thermal processing applications in industrial sectors.
  • Support the planning and management of the Industrial Process Heating RD&D portfolio.
  • Communicate research results to colleagues and clients through formal and informal presentations and written technical communications.
  • Advise on industry-relevant demonstration opportunities for decarbonization via thermal processing technologies and processes.
  • Collaborate with program managers and co-workers in a fast-paced team environment.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or similar engineering degree).
  • 7 years' experience with a bachelor's degree or 5 years' experience with a Master's degree.
  • Familiarity with IEDO programs and relevant technical topics.
  • Experience in product development or application engineering in industrial furnaces, thermal processing equipment, and industrial process engineering.
  • Excellent communication skills, including strong technical writing skills and an ability to tailor written and verbal communications for technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Located in the Washington DC area.
  • Candidates with experience in industrial settings strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Experience with decarbonization of process heating.
  • Strong ability/interest in making connections and building collaborations.

We offer a competitive salary range of $91,000 to $136,700 per year, depending on experience. CLEAResult is an Equal Opportunity Employer and welcomes applications from diverse candidates. Please note that sponsorship is not available for this role at this time.
