About the Role

As a Relationship Banker at General Electric Credit Union, you will play a vital role in fostering strong relationships with our members. Your primary responsibility will be to understand the unique financial needs of our members and provide personalized solutions to meet their goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet and Direct Members: You will be the first point of contact for members entering the branch, ensuring a warm and welcoming experience.
  • Financial Needs Assessment: Through consultative conversations, you will uncover members' financial goals and needs, providing tailored recommendations for GECU products and services.
  • Product and Service Advice: You will advise members on the best solutions to achieve their financial objectives, promoting a positive member experience.
  • Business Development: You will be responsible for managing a book of business, consistently meeting sales and service goals through consultative conversations and outbound calls.
  • Account Management: You will open and close various types of depository accounts, perform account maintenance activities, and investigate and resolve member account issues.
  • Teller Transactions: You will conduct teller transactions, including transfers, deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and loan payoffs.
  • Cash Handling: You will be responsible for cash handling activities, ensuring accuracy and security.
  • Loan Application Process: You will facilitate the consumer loan application process, including product recommendation, loan interview, credit report evaluation, and document collection.
  • Loan Closings: You will facilitate member loan closings, explaining documentation, directing members to sign, and notarizing documents as necessary.
  • Branch Operations: You will perform opening, closing, and other branch servicing duties, including drawer and vault balancing, and servicing the coin machine and Interactive Teller Machines (ITMs).
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum two years of customer service experience required; minimum one year of experience working in a financial institution (FI) or related industry required.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, good communication skills, ability to function well in a fast-paced environment, and ability to learn and maintain proficiency in multiple computer systems.
