Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Professional to join our team at Edmond Public Schools. As a Middle School Special Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting students with disabilities and helping them achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain knowledge of trends in educating children with disabilities and the law governing that area.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to meet the unique needs of students.
- Collaborate with general education teachers and other support staff to ensure a comprehensive and inclusive learning environment.
- Provide direct instruction and support to students in a variety of settings, including classrooms and small group settings.
- Evaluate student progress and adjust instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Arts degree in education with special education training.
- Valid Oklahoma teaching certificate with special education endorsement.
Working Conditions:
This is a temporary contract position with 181 contract days. The salary will be based on the District Special Ed. salary schedule.
Evaluation and Professional Growth:
Performance of this job will be evaluated by the Site Principal in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policies and state law. Opportunities for professional growth and development will be provided to support your success in this role.
