Position Overview:
The CNC Lathe Operator is responsible for setting up and programming CNC lathe and Swiss screw machines to produce high-quality components.

Key Responsibilities:
The role encompasses a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:
  • Setting up, programming, and operating multi-axis CNC lathes and screw machines while ensuring efficient production processes.
  • Producing precision parts and tooling that meet established cycle times and quality standards.
  • Conducting thorough inspections of machined components to uphold quality assurance protocols.
  • Completing and signing off on Workorder-Travelers in accordance with company policy, ensuring no defective parts are passed on.
  • Documenting the production process as required, including setup procedures, tool lists, and inspection records.
  • Optimizing machine operations by adjusting speeds and feeds as directed by management.
  • Executing setups and running first article inspections to verify production accuracy.
  • Demonstrating effective quality control measures for machined parts.
  • Utilizing CNC machine G and M codes and making necessary program adjustments.
  • Familiarity with Mastercam CNC programming software is preferred.
  • Providing training and support to fellow team members as needed.
  • Collaborating with Operators and Quality Assurance personnel to ensure production efficiency.
  • Adhering to all company policies and procedures.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
  • Experience in operating lathe machines, including programming and setup capabilities.
  • A keen eye for detail, strong vision for close inspection, and excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • The ability to comprehend instructions and perform arithmetic calculations.
  • Capacity for sustained mental and visual focus during machine cycles and part inspections.
  • A commitment to safety, ensuring the well-being of oneself and colleagues while protecting equipment.
  • Physical stamina to stand, reach, twist, and perform hand movements throughout the shift.
  • A professional demeanor, strong work ethic, eagerness to learn, and the ability to collaborate effectively.
  • Proficiency in following detailed instructions and procedures.
  • Capability to lift and move materials weighing up to 30 lbs.
  • Willingness to work in environments that may be dusty, loud, and involve exposure to various mechanical and chemical elements.
