Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a highly skilled Project Controls Engineer to join our team in Fresno, CA. As a key member of our project controls team, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and reviewing cost management data, including budget and cost forecasts, and providing accurate and timely reporting of cost data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and review monthly reports for accuracy of cost information, ensuring timely and accurate delivery to stakeholders.
  • Analyze variances in cost and schedule, identifying areas for improvement and making recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Coordinate and gather all necessary information for special reports and requests, ensuring seamless communication with project teams.
  • Support the Program Cost Controls Lead and Senior Cost Engineer in reviews and meetings, providing expert guidance and analysis.
  • Reconcile and edit cost management data in the Cost Management System, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Develop and coordinate cost management updates to assist PCM's, PC, CM's, and PC Leads with current budgets, actuals, accruals, forecasts, and changes.
  • Support the development, compilation, and production of multi-billion rail transit program reports, covering progress, cost, cash flow, earned value, risk, schedule, and other relevant information.
  • Verify changes are properly reflected in the cost forecast, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Update, reconcile, and report changes (202's and BOC's) into and from the Change Management Table for tracking pending and approved changes and contingency utilizations.
  • Coordinate with Regional Project Controls for required project-level reporting, ensuring seamless communication and data exchange.
  • Develop monthly cost reports, including coordination with regional project controls staff, weekly QA/QC of project cost data, and communication of corrections.
  • Assist the Program Cost Lead and Senior Cost Engineer with loading cost data into the Cost Management System, capturing cost reports, and preparing Program Controls functional unit Cost Budget Monitors and reports.
  • Develop monthly accruals and burn rates for Program Director's approval, including communication with project managers, provision of monthly burn rates and reversal for monthly accruals, verification of changes in the cost forecast, and assessment of impact on contingency, escalation, and cash flow.
Qualifications
  • BA/BS + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
