We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Health and Safety Professional to join our team at Montgomery County Public School. This position will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of environmental health and safety programs.

Salary: $58,839.45 - $114,782.33 annually; with benefits; commensurate with experience and prorated to start date

Job Description

The Occupational Health and Safety Professional will work closely with school administrators, teachers, and staff to ensure compliance with environmental health and safety regulations. This position will also be responsible for compiling, analyzing, and evaluating environmental health and safety data to inform program improvements and risk management strategies.

  • Compile, analyze, and evaluate environmental health and safety data to inform program improvements and risk management strategies
  • Develop and maintain performance metrics to evaluate program outcomes and adjust strategies as necessary
  • Represent the division as the point of contact for Environmental Health and Safety Programs, participating in local, state, and national meetings and conferences

This position may require a variable schedule, including evenings and weekends, to address division needs.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Educational Requirements: Bachelor's degree in occupational hygiene, environmental health and safety, risk management, environmental science, or a related field
  • Certifications and Specialized Knowledge: Certifications desired include Radon, Integrated Pest Management (IPM), water testing, asbestos, and hazardous materials
  • Knowledge Requirements: Indoor air quality, water quality, and hazardous material issues affecting schools, underground storage tank operations, training, inspection, and compliance
