Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain boiler and ammonia refrigeration equipment and systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems to prevent downtime and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Monitor and control the operation of boiler and ammonia refrigeration systems to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Respond to chemical leaks and spills, and participate in emergency response teams as required.
  • Communicate with equipment manufacturers and vendors to resolve issues and obtain necessary parts.
  • Work with various refrigerants, chemicals, solvents, paints, fuels, and lubricants.
  • Comply with and monitor operation for compliance with all 14 elements of the Process Safety Management Program.
  • Perform preventive maintenance in accordance with approved maintenance plans and work orders using SAP.
  • Operate facility fire monitoring system.
  • Read and understand equipment and system drawings.
  • Maintain, adjust, and repair utility systems and facility support equipment controls in assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Perform routine boiler water analysis and maintenance as required.
  • Monitor and maintain plant steam production, ammonia refrigeration system, and the plant compressed air system.
  • Document all maintenance and inspection activity in accordance with company policies.
  • Operate and maintain all engine room and other equipment including ammonia refrigeration, boilers, pumps, compressors, condensers, and electrical systems.
  • Help develop and follow established standard operating procedures for safety, health, environment, and production.
  • Adhere to safe work practices, complete monthly safety audits/observations, follow GMPs, maintain sanitary conditions, and ensure that product quality is maintained.
Requirements
  • Special Boiler Operator's License
  • Class 2B License
  • HVAC experience
