Bakery Operations Supervisor

GENERAL OVERVIEW $18.73 - $19.51 PER HOUR
The primary aim of this role is to support the Bakery Manager in ensuring the bakery department operates efficiently and profitably. This individual will be knowledgeable about all bakery functions, capable of stepping into any role as needed, and will be responsible for training new bakery staff while delivering outstanding customer service. Additionally, this position will assist in assessing production and inventory requirements for the bakery.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Adheres to established departmental and store policies and procedures.
Guarantees the quality and freshness of all products and services offered by the bakery.
Responsible for maintaining the appropriate product selection and inventory levels for the bakery.
Verifies pricing accuracy and signage for all products, with particular attention to promotional items.
Ensures the bakery is cleaned and sanitized daily, meeting company standards for appearance.
Delivers exceptional customer service to all patrons.
Performs the following tasks alongside the Bakery Manager or in their absence:
Ordering products and creating production schedules to meet the bakery's needs based on historical and projected sales.
Completes assigned tasks efficiently and in a timely manner.
Sets a professional and positive example for others.
Maintains open and frequent communication with the Store Director, Bakery Manager, and Bakery Sales Director.
Ensures compliance with company standards for safety, sanitation, and productivity.
Develops the bakery schedule to ensure adequate coverage and meet labor objectives.
Conducts quarterly inventory assessments of all bakery products.
Teaches, mentors, and guides associates to help them become successful team members.
Participates actively in the Safety Committee to ensure the safety of both customers and associates.
Provides honest, direct, and ongoing feedback to associates regarding their performance and areas for improvement.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

TRAINING & QUALIFICATIONS:

A high school diploma or GED and some college education are preferred; 1 year of bakery experience is preferred; or any combination of education, experience, and training that provides the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Current Food Handlers Permit.
Enjoys working with and handling bakery products.
Passionate about cooking and sampling a variety of bakery items.
Ability to interpret policies and procedures.
Excellent organizational and planning skills.
Strong communication skills, including verbal and listening abilities to effectively interact with diverse groups.
Ability to handle conflict professionally and appropriately.
Must be able to accept constructive feedback and be accountable for personal and team success.
Required to make logical, significant decisions using recognized skills and techniques.
Must demonstrate integrity, a positive attitude, and a commitment to the mission of Harmons, working collaboratively.

Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Work is generally performed in a safe and comfortable store environment with potential exposure to hot, cold, slippery, and wet conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to grasp, push, pull, carry, stoop, twist, crouch, and reach; perform tasks requiring repetitive motion and coordination; hear and respond to customer inquiries. This role also requires standing, walking, and bending throughout the entire workday and the ability to maneuver heavy objects weighing up to 50 pounds from location to location.
