Job Summary

Frontier Behavioral Health is seeking a skilled Crisis Triage Specialist to join our team. As a Crisis Triage Specialist, you will be responsible for receiving crisis calls from 911, PSAPs, and emergency dispatchers, and providing triage and support services to individuals in crisis. You will work collaboratively with clients, family, and community partners to develop and implement viable, less restrictive alternatives to hospitalization, and assist with inpatient treatment, linkage to services and resources, and referrals to mobile crisis response teams or Designated Crisis Responders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive warm transfer calls from 911, PSAPs, and emergency dispatchers, and provide triage and support services to individuals in crisis.
  • Conduct risk assessments to determine if the caller is at risk for suicide, homicide, and/or grave disability, and develop safety plans to ensure the individual's safety and the safety of others.
  • Collaborate with clients, family, and community partners to develop and implement viable, less restrictive alternatives to hospitalization, and assist with inpatient treatment, linkage to services and resources, and referrals to mobile crisis response teams or Designated Crisis Responders.
  • Provide crisis intervention services to individuals requesting assistance or third-party referral sources to provide community stabilization services to the identified individual in crisis.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in the Behavioral Health field.
  • Must submit for Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration within 30 days of hire.
  • Two years of experience serving individuals with behavioral health needs.
  • Experience with crisis intervention, including risk assessments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge and skills in working with individuals with mental health and/or substance use disorders.
  • Ability to communicate and engage effectively with individuals of varied backgrounds, trauma experiences, cultures, education level, and socioeconomic status.
  • Demonstrated evidence of critical thinking, decision-making ability, and problem-solving skills.

Work is generally performed in an office setting which may involve sitting and use of computers for four to eight hours per day. May be required to lift pounds. Work may be performed out of office and travel may be needed to outside areas. Blood-borne Pathogen Category III - No predictable exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
