  • As a Grants Accounting Specialist at Northeast Ohio Medical University, you will process expenditures, monitor budgets, and manage invoicing for institutional restricted funds.
  • In this role, you will oversee and monitor accounts receivable subsidiary ledgers, aging of invoices, and delinquent payments.
  • You will also prepare and submit monthly invoices for grants and other restricted funds, post cash receipts for restricted accounts, and review and approve various financial transactions.
  • Your responsibilities will include preparing requisitions and purchase orders for consulting agreements, subcontracts, and other vendor agreements, and reviewing vendors to ensure they are set up as payees in PaymentWorks.
  • You will prepare journal entries for distributions and corrections, review backup documentation, and collaborate with department contacts to maintain documentation for restricted fund transactions.
  • In addition, you will manage electronic file destruction according to the institution's and sponsors record retention policies, prepare quarterly or ad-hoc financial status updates, analyze accounts, expenditures, and financial statements to project budgets.
  • You will also process budget reallocations, prepare payroll projections, and create interim and final updates, and support the preparation of financial reports and surveys as needed.

Qualifications for this role include an Associate's degree in accounting or a related field, or equivalent accounting experience, and a minimum of one year of experience in an accounting environment.

Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's degree and experience with Banner and/or Kuali Research Grants Management System.
