Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Underwriting Assistant to provide essential support to our Underwriting team. This role is fully remote and offers a full-time schedule.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Initiate new submissions in the clearance system and manage them according to established protocols.
  • Assist Underwriters with the workflows related to quotes, binders, and policy issuance.
  • Collect and organize necessary information and reports, such as loss runs, risk assessments, and loss ratings, to facilitate informed underwriting decisions.
  • Support the Underwriter in calculating rates and premiums.
  • Examine incoming insurance applications for accuracy and completeness.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of the team's underwriting workflows and processes, including maintaining underwriting files for all bound accounts.
  • Engage with producers to follow up on any outstanding information.
  • Process and distribute insurance binders, endorsements, and policies in accordance with the processing standards set by management.
  • Prepare all policies in alignment with final binders, ensuring thorough review by underwriting staff.
  • Oversee all account documentation.

Qualifications:
  • 1-3 years of experience in underwriting.
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
