Welding Job Description at SSP

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a skilled Welder to join our team at SSP. As a Welder, you will be responsible for welding product parts and assemblies in accordance with customer specifications and requirements.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Determine the correct welding rod to use, flux to apply, and tooling appropriate method to use and relationship of parts.

* Perform certified seam flange, edge, fillet and lap-fusion welding on various types of materials which are the same or nearly the same thickness at point of weld.

* Weld fittings on tubing, ducts, tanks and other similar units.

* Weld tanks, vessels, tubing, brackets, boxes, shelves and other assemblies which are subjected to high stress or pressures.

* Be familiar with shop practice and assembly procedures to determine whether parts are fitted properly and meet specifications prior to welding.

* Have fair knowledge of weld symbols and weld specs.

* Performs rework, repair and other associated operations relating to the work described herein when such requirements are characteristic of the classification.

* Follow all Senior policies and procedure.

* Other duties as assigned.

**Work Environment:**

As a Welder at SSP, you will be working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will be required to maintain an organized, clean and safe work area using safety standards and expectations while adhering to all quality practices.

**Requirements:**

* Must be certified in at least two of the following alloy groups in accordance with MIL T and Quality Control Procedure #9, Groups I, II, III, IV, and VI.

* Departmental job requirements may require more than two certifications.
