Key Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum hallways, stairs, restrooms, and office space to ensure a clean and healthy environment.
  • Waste Management: Empty all trash, break down cardboard, and maintain a clean and organized waste management system.
  • Inspections and Reporting: Conduct regular inspections to identify and report any safety or security issues, and notify management of any major repairs needed.
  • Supply Management: Advise direct supervisor of janitorial and building supply needs to ensure adequate inventory.
  • Outdoor Maintenance: Provide routine outside maintenance, including removing litter and cultivating flowers as assigned.
  • Special Projects: Assist with seasonal activities, set up furniture for meetings, and unload and put away donations as required.

Requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: Janitorial and maintenance experience preferred but not required.
  • Certifications/Licenses: None.
  • Skills/Abilities:
    • Basic Hand Tools: Ability to use basic hand tools for cleaning and maintenance tasks.
    • Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail to ensure a clean and safe environment.
    • Organizational Skills: Ability to organize and carry out work plans with minimal supervision.
    • Cultural Competence: Ability to work with diverse socioeconomic groups.

Working Conditions:

This role requires standing, walking, climbing, and kneeling for extended periods. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this job.
