Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify physician orders and screen for potential interactions, incompatibilities, and other safety concerns prior to dispensing medication.
  • Maintain accurate medication records and drug profiles for inpatients and employees.
  • Supervise and ensure accuracy of technicians' work, including controlled substance records.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of programs to monitor the quality of care and improve patient outcomes.
  • Provide drug information and education to medical and nursing staff.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate records of supplies, prescriptions filled, and drugs dispensed.
  • Participate in departmental performance improvement programs and contribute to a culture of excellence.
Requirements
  • PharmD degree or BS in Pharmacy from an accredited institution.
  • Valid NYS Pharmacist license and registration.
  • Experience in a hospital setting preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply.
Working Conditions

This role requires significant manual skills, motor coordination, and finger dexterity. The working environment may involve some occupational risk, exposure to dirt, odors, noise, and human waste. The ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force is necessary.
