Summary: Oversee and manage the activities of personnel involved in the packaging of products and materials, ensuring that the final output meets established quality standards prior to distribution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor packaging processes to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Translate job orders to team members and delegate tasks accordingly.
- Identify and resolve operational challenges, providing assistance to team members as needed.
- Assess and enhance worker productivity.
- Encourage and motivate team members.
- Implement and manage job assignment and rotation plans for staff.
- Ensure proper handling, routing, and control of materials.
- Maintain adherence to safety protocols.
- Review work for accuracy, organization, and compliance with policies.
- Conduct hourly inspections of workstations and monitor team progress.
- Confirm counts of packaged materials.
- Adjust scales to determine the required number of items per container for larger orders.
- Track scrap materials, input data into the system, and generate necessary documentation.
- Verify packaging work orders for accuracy.
- Prioritize materials based on expiration dates to ensure timely completion.
- Communicate with supervisors regarding any arising issues.
- Maintain daily labor records, including part numbers.
- Assign packaging materials and create samples for supervisor approval.
- Designate table numbers for all materials.
- Keep personal documentation organized.
- Request blueprints from supervisors when necessary.
- Participate in line operations as time allows and needs dictate.
- Print necessary labels.
- Compile production order totals upon completion.
- Conduct audits and finalize tri-wall packaging.
- Verify accuracy of tags on tri-wall packaging.
- Adjust documentation for any discrepancies in quantities.
- Utilize RFP gun as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of one year of experience in a lead or supervisory role.
- At least one year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
