**About Us:**

Homes for the Homeless, Inc. is a leading organization dedicated to providing shelter and support services to families experiencing homelessness in NYC. We strive to create a safe and welcoming environment for our residents, and we're seeking an experienced Safety Aide to join our team.

**Job Summary:**We're looking for a detail-oriented and security-conscious individual to serve as a Safety Aide at our Families w/ Children facility in Queens, NY. As a key member of our security department, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our residents, staff, and visitors. This includes patrolling interior and exterior areas, monitoring entry and exit points, enforcing rules and regulations, and responding to emergencies.

**Key Responsibilities:**
  • Patrol buildings and grounds to prevent and detect signs of unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor and control access to restricted areas.
  • Enforce organizational policies and procedures related to safety and security.
  • Prepare incident reports and maintain accurate records.
  • Participate in fire drills and emergency response training.
  • Assist with hazardous situations and emergency responses.


**Qualifications:**
  • A current NYS Security Guard License.
  • An 8-hour certificate.
  • A 16-hour certificate.
  • F-02 (Certificate of Fitness for Fire Guard for Shelters) or willingness to obtain within 2 months.
