About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medication Aide to join our team at National Lutheran Communities & Services. This is a full-time position working night shifts, with a competitive salary of $21.00-$26.50 per hour based on experience.

Job Summary

The Certified Medication Aide will play a crucial role in ensuring our patients receive the right medications at the right time. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of medication administration techniques and safety protocols, as well as excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Administer medications to patients with care and precision, following prescribed orders
  • Observe and report any changes in patients' conditions or medication reactions
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medication administration records
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members about medications and care
  • Assist in monitoring medication inventory
  • Provide compassionate support to patients during medication administration
  • Evaluate and implement new strategies for improving patient care
  • Collaborate closely with nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care

Requirements

  • Current Certified Medication Aide license in good standing
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a CMA, preferably in a similar healthcare setting
  • Strong knowledge of medication administration techniques and safety protocols
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ongoing commitment to learning and professional development
