Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Mathematics Instructor to join our faculty at Alamance Community College. As a Mathematics Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching a variety of undergraduate mathematics courses, including developmental-level mathematics, math measurement & literacy, algebra and trigonometry, quantitative literacy, statistics, precalculus, calculus, and differential equations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching: Develop and deliver engaging and informative mathematics courses that align with the college's curriculum and learning objectives; design and grade assignments, exams, and other assessments to evaluate student performance and learning.
  • Academic Advising: Provide academic advising to students, including maintaining accessible office or lab hours and understanding College policies and procedures, degree requirements, and transfer agreements.
  • Service: Participate in department and college-wide meetings, initiatives, and service activities; collaborate with other faculty members to enhance the mathematics offerings at the College.
Requirements
  • Education: Master's degree in Mathematics or a related field with at least 18 graduate credit hours in Mathematics.
  • Experience: Prior college-level teaching experience and a strong academic foundation.
  • Skills: Ability to teach a range of undergraduate mathematics courses, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
