The Mechanical Systems Technician collaborates with team members to execute preventive, predictive, and routine maintenance activities. This role involves diagnosing issues, repairing breakdowns of production and facility machinery, and ensuring optimal equipment performance and reliability.

This position necessitates the successful completion of an online assessment. Upon meeting the required qualifications, a link to complete the assessment will be sent via email immediately after your application is submitted. The assessment must be completed within 7 days of your application submission OR before the job posting expiration date, whichever comes first. If you have previously taken a Phillips 66 assessment in 2023 or earlier, you will need to retake the assessment for this role. Your assessment results will remain valid for one year.


Key Responsibilities Include:


• Conducting maintenance and repairs on engines, compressors, and related components, including compressor valves, spark plugs, and cooling and lubrication systems.

• Overhauling compressors and engines, including foundation work, initial alignment, testing, and startup procedures.

• Ensuring safe, effective, and efficient maintenance and operational activities in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.

• Adhering to company policies, procedures, and directives.

• Performing maintenance on air pollution control systems.

• Executing preventive and corrective maintenance on various equipment types to guarantee safe and efficient operations.

• Identifying maintenance needs and initiating work requests.

• Operating a company vehicle within the designated area.

• Diagnosing mechanical issues effectively.

• Providing Quality Assurance/Quality Control oversight for third-party contractors engaged in major maintenance activities.

Required Qualifications:

• Legally authorized to work in the job posting country.

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.

• Must possess a valid driver's license.

• Must reside or be willing to relocate within 45 miles of the reporting location.

• Willingness to work a rotating call-out schedule.

• Maintain all necessary operations and safety training, including required Operator Qualifications for DOT-covered tasks.

• Willing and able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation, the following:
o Climb ladders and stairs ranging from 5 to 20 feet in height on platforms and catwalks to conduct maintenance on equipment.
o Lift and transport items weighing up to 50 pounds.
o Occasionally exert a pulling force of 130 pounds.
o Walk, stand, stoop, sit, climb, and carry materials daily on both even and uneven terrain.
o Work outdoors in various weather conditions.
o Work independently a significant portion of the time.
o Work scheduled or unscheduled overtime as needed.
o Wear fire-retardant clothing and other personal protective equipment, such as steel-toe shoes and ear and eye protection.

Preferred Qualifications:


• Three or more years of maintenance/mechanical experience in the oil and gas or related industry.

• Three or more years of direct experience with reading schematics, manuals, and technical drawings.

• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel, Word, and relevant maintenance software.

• Strong knowledge of code requirements, including OSHA and Process Safety.
