Environmental Specialist

As an Environmental Technician at Universal Engineering Sciences, you will play a vital role in ensuring the protection of the environment and public health. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting environmental inspections and sampling, preparing inspection reports, and creating maps. You will also be responsible for conducting asbestos and lead abatement oversight, as well as performing other related duties as assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct environmental inspections and sampling, including asbestos, lead, mold, soil, groundwater, air, and other related activities.
Prepare inspection reports based on the findings of the inspections.
Create maps to document the results of the inspections and sampling activities.
Conduct asbestos and lead abatement oversight to ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards.
Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will be required to read, write, and speak English fluently.
The ability to properly wear and use personal respirator equipment and other forms of personal protective equipment is required.
Candidates should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, a positive attitude, good organizational skills, a strong work ethic, and great customer service skills.
Candidates must have a current valid driver's license with a clean driving record and be able to pass a drug test.
Preferred Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree in a related science or engineering field is preferred.
OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is preferred.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and CADD is preferred.
