The County of Gaston is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as an EMT Trainee. As a Trainee, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in emergency medical services while working alongside our experienced staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Shadow GEMS staff members during daily operations and tasks
  • Participate in different functions and/or events to build needed experience to become a certified EMT
  • Perform additional duties such as inventorying medical supplies, cleaning and decontaminating Emergency Response Vehicles, and more

Requirements:

  • Graduation with a high school diploma or GED equivalency required
  • Actively in the process of obtaining EMT certification
  • Valid driver's license required

Selected applicants will undergo a background check and must pass a drug screening test prior to employment.
