Job Title: Medical Assistant - Clinical Support Professional

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Scarsdale Medical Group. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform various clinical and office duties under the direct supervision of a Physician/Provider/Nurse
  • Adhere to performance standards, policies, and behaviors
  • Organize patient flow and assist patients with walking transfers, dressing, specimen collection, and exam preparation
  • Obtain patient history and perform screenings per provider guidelines
  • Assist providers and nurses with procedures and charting; relay instructions to patients and families
  • Manage and update patient records, schedule procedures and tests, and verify insurance coverage and demographics
  • Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of examination rooms; check and complete required logs
  • Assist providers with electronic medical records management, including laboratory and radiology orders
  • Respect and promote patient rights; respond appropriately to emergencies
  • Participate in daily huddles and practice team meetings
  • Assist in the collection and handling of laboratory specimens, perform electrocardiography, and other office-specific tasks
  • Maintain infection control standards, including hand hygiene and personal protective equipment use
  • Be flexible and adapt to changes in routine
  • Handle and transport objects up to 50 pounds; assist in moving patients

Requirements:
  • High School diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
  • Completion of a six-month (6) to one (1) year course in Medical Assisting from an accredited school
  • Adherence to Medical Assistant scope of practice
  • Basic medical terminology
  • Experience with Electronic Scheduling and Electronic Medical Records

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), preferred; BLS upon hire or within 3 months of hire
