Job Summary
Alameda Health System (AHS) is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nursing Professional to fill the role of Registered Nurse II at our San Leandro Hospital location. This is a full-time position that offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
About the Role
The Registered Nurse II provides nursing care to patients under general supervision, administering medications, performing treatments, and evaluating patient care. As a journey-level class, this role requires professional nursing experience and the ability to independently perform clinical nursing services involving patient care. The RN II may also supervise professional and paraprofessional staff on their assigned unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Care
- Accompany, assist, and represent the needs of patients to other healthcare providers.
- Administer medications accurately and provide care with respect to skin and wound care, ADLs, and other essential patient care activities.
- Nursing Planning and Evaluation
- Develop, implement, evaluate, and modify nursing care plans; prepare required records and reports.
- Clinical Decision Making
- Gather and assess information about patients to meet nursing needs; assist and consult with physicians in the performance of procedures and diagnostic tests; contact physicians and/or other departments to obtain or provide patient information.
- Team Leadership
- Organize, supervise, make adjustments, and accept responsibility for the quality of care provided by coworkers for a given work period; assume responsibility as a team leader or charge nurse when assigned.
- Infection Control and Safety
- Participate in promoting a healthful, safe, and therapeutic environment for patients and families; set up and control the environment essential for infection control.
Requirements
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Nursing program required; Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
- Experience: Six months experience as a Registered Nurse I with AHS or the equivalent of one year full-time recent experience at a comparable level in a minimum 100-bed hospital or in the area of specialty.
- Licenses/Certifications: Valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of California; ACLS, BLS, CPI, PALS certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
Salary and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience, plus comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) plan, and generous paid time off.
