We invite applications for part-time faculty positions to teach courses in our Creative Entrepreneurship program on an ongoing basis.

About the Position:

The Maryland Institute College of Art seeks a dedicated educator and entrepreneur with professional experience to provide instruction for students enrolled in our Creative Entrepreneurship program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Instruct students on business topics applied in professional creative practices.
  • Develop and deliver lectures, assignments, and course projects incorporating global and diverse perspectives.
  • Collaborate with Faculty Lead, Creative Entrepreneurship, and other MICA faculty to standardize rubrics and syllabi.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field with 10 years of related professional experience.
  • Knowledge of foundational business practices as applied by professional artists and designers in one or more creative sectors.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a related field with 5 years of related professional experience.
  • Education and experience in developing student-centered programs, hands-on pedagogical approaches, and research and material practices relevant to art and design students, faculty, and community populations rich in diversity.
Working Conditions:
  • Occasional standing, walking, sitting; use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk or hear.
  • Lift up to 15 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Estimated salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year.
