Job Description

Sundt is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Superintendent to join our team. As a 100% employee-owned contractor, we offer a unique culture where everyone is deeply invested in their work.

As a Field Superintendent, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day construction activities, including supervision of craft employees and subcontractors. You will schedule field activities in coordination with the project schedule and ensure safety, production goals, quality control, and cost control.

This is a challenging role that requires strong leadership and communication skills. You will work closely with project leaders to ensure timely mitigation and documentation of risks. You will also be responsible for enforcing the project management plan and ensuring that activities in the field are consistent with the plan, policies, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in or conduct review of shop drawings and design conflicts along with RFI review and implementation.
  • Manage Quality Control and Safety responsibilities as well as subcontractor coordination and oversight.
  • Assist in or manage the selection of equipment, construction methods, and sequencing of operations.
  • Assist with or conduct subcontractor meetings.
  • Assist with or manage the implementation of LEAN planning.
  • Conduct risk management analysis on a daily basis.
  • Emphasize a culture of safety throughout the project.
  • Enforce the project management plan.
  • Ensure project control activities and costs are managed daily.
  • Oversee, direct, and coordinate manpower, equipment, material, and subcontract activities.
  • Participate in business development and preconstruction activities.
  • Prepare and maintain a detailed schedule for specific areas of responsibility.
  • Review and complete daily reporting requirements.
Minimum Requirements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Minimum of two years supervisory experience in similar construction technology, methods, equipment, tools, and work procedures required.
  • Understanding of construction scheduling and cost control and the ability to control and supervise employees and subcontractors is essential.
