Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Stewarding and Conference Services Manager to join our team at Oglebay. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing and supervising the Steward & Conference set up teams, ensuring seamless execution of events and conferences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision
    • Directly supervise 6-8 employees in the Conference Services Department and 13 employees in Stewarding.
    • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Event Execution
    • Direct and supervise the Steward & Conference set up teams.
    • Ensure the proper setup and equipment rotation before and after events.
    • Train the Conference services team to assist with light A/V set up.
  • Facilities Management
    • Maintain a high standard for cleanliness and organization of equipment in all related areas.
    • Establish and maintain daily cleaning of all F&B areas, including hallways, banquet rooms, serving areas, restaurants, kitchens.
  • Inventory and Scheduling
    • Assist in the purchasing of all chemicals and wares used in a professional kitchen.
    • Manage and schedule hourly team members & temp labor for operational use.
  • Communication and Customer Service
    • Interact with the public with a cheerful and positive attitude.
    • Solve guest problems and complaints in a proper manner.
  • Training and Development
    • Hire and train the team members to develop stewarding & conference services departments with high service standards.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Management experience in high volume business.
    • Ability to work in high stress environment.
  • Certifications and Licenses
    • Must be certified by WV State food handler.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Ability to read and execute BEO's.
    • Understanding of proper rotation of stock (FIFO).
    • Proper food storage and food safety procedures followed.
