Ophthalmic Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our team at Florida Medical Clinic Orlando Health. As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our ophthalmologists in delivering top-notch eye care services.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform comprehensive eye exams, including visual acuity, manual lensometry, and other diagnostic tests.
- Collect and document patient data, including medical history, allergies, and medications.
- Assist ophthalmologists with laser procedures and minor surgeries, maintaining sterile technique and infection control standards.
- Triage patients, determining who should be seen next and ensuring a smooth flow of patients to the physician.
- Provide excellent customer service, communicating effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including patient charts and clinical supply levels.
- Participate in instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, and archiving functions.
- High school graduate or GED equivalent.
- Strong customer service orientation and teamwork skills.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn new software.
- Ability to refract and perform other testing as needed.
