Position: Café Employment Coach

Company: Futures Inc. is currently looking for passionate Café Employment Coach candidates in the New Britain area. Our mission is to empower individuals with developmental challenges, enabling them to flourish within their communities and achieve personal milestones.

Position Title: Café Employment Coach

Reports To: Culinary Director, followed by the VP of Social Enterprises

Compensation: $19.00 per hour

Employment Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt, Hourly Position (35 hours/week, with every other Saturday Required)

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of experience in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and challenging behaviors is preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience as a barista is preferred.
  • Must pass a clear background check.
  • Valid driver's license in Connecticut is required.
  • Personal vehicle and car insurance are necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately fulfilling customer orders while considering specific preferences (such as dairy and sugar ratios).
  • Guiding clients in acquiring essential skills for café operations.
  • Supervising clients during their work.
  • Documenting and reporting daily achievements of goals and objectives.
  • Regularly updating designated supervisors on progress.
  • Transporting individuals using a personal vehicle while adhering to all driving regulations.
  • Exhibiting clear communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Conducting café-related business transactions.
  • Ensuring a clean and organized workspace.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.
