The work schedule is structured for Monday through Friday, totaling 40 hours per week, with daytime hours only. There is no requirement for operating room duties or on-call shifts, ensuring a balanced work-life environment.
Compensation: The salary is determined by years of licensure as an Advanced Practice Provider, with the following annual salary structure:
Years Since Licensure Annual Salary (1.0 FTE)- 0-2 Years: $134,000
- 2-5 Years: $137,000
- 5-10 Years: $144,000
- 10-15 Years: $147,000
- 15+ Years: $151,465.60
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform thorough physical assessments of neurosurgery patients.
- Collaborate with the Neurosurgery Team to manage medically and surgically complex cases.
- Provide outpatient care in conjunction with inpatient Advanced Practice Providers, residents, and staff to ensure continuity of care.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including labs and imaging studies, while overseeing patient scheduling for specialized evaluations.
- Educate patients and their families about their medical conditions and treatment plans.
- Coordinate with clinic staff to ensure timely referrals and appropriate follow-up appointments.
- Engage with inpatient teams to facilitate seamless transitions for discharged patients.
- Contribute to the education and development of residents, nurses, and medical assistants.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care standards.
- Participate in departmental research activities.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner or in Physician Assistant studies from an accredited institution.
- Current licensure in Minnesota as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant.
- Certification in the relevant specialty area from an authorized certifying body.
- BLS and ACLS certifications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
- Background in Neurosurgery (as an APP, RN, or in another capacity).
