The work schedule is structured for Monday through Friday, totaling 40 hours per week, with daytime hours only. There is no requirement for operating room duties or on-call shifts, ensuring a balanced work-life environment.

Compensation: The salary is determined by years of licensure as an Advanced Practice Provider, with the following annual salary structure:

Years Since Licensure Annual Salary (1.0 FTE)
  • 0-2 Years: $134,000
  • 2-5 Years: $137,000
  • 5-10 Years: $144,000
  • 10-15 Years: $147,000
  • 15+ Years: $151,465.60

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform thorough physical assessments of neurosurgery patients.
  • Collaborate with the Neurosurgery Team to manage medically and surgically complex cases.
  • Provide outpatient care in conjunction with inpatient Advanced Practice Providers, residents, and staff to ensure continuity of care.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including labs and imaging studies, while overseeing patient scheduling for specialized evaluations.
  • Educate patients and their families about their medical conditions and treatment plans.
  • Coordinate with clinic staff to ensure timely referrals and appropriate follow-up appointments.
  • Engage with inpatient teams to facilitate seamless transitions for discharged patients.
  • Contribute to the education and development of residents, nurses, and medical assistants.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care standards.
  • Participate in departmental research activities.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner or in Physician Assistant studies from an accredited institution.
  • Current licensure in Minnesota as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant.
  • Certification in the relevant specialty area from an authorized certifying body.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
  • Background in Neurosurgery (as an APP, RN, or in another capacity).
