Position Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Employment Development Specialist to contribute to our mission. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to assisting individuals with disabilities in navigating assessments, internships, job searches, interviews, resume creation, and career advancement. The Employment Development Specialist will be instrumental in identifying employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities and providing essential support within Spring Dell Center's Career Bridges program to ensure successful employment outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess participants' strengths, interests, and abilities through interviews and evaluations.
  • Conduct outreach and job searches to uncover employment opportunities for participants.
  • Build and maintain relationships with employers to create job placements.
  • Guide participants in interview preparation, job application completion, and skill development.
  • Collaborate with the Employment Transition Manager to execute employment transition plans for participants.
  • Offer ongoing support to participants during their volunteer placements and internships, including job coaching and advocacy as required.
  • Utilize appropriate materials and curriculum modifications to meet participants' needs in areas such as communication, technology, problem-solving, teamwork, professionalism, financial management, self-advocacy, resume writing, and job search techniques.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more.
  • Clean driving record with at least 2 years of driving experience.
  • Experience working with adults with disabilities is preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
  • Associate Degree is preferred.
  • Background in counseling, career coaching, and resume writing is a plus.
  • Basic and advanced computer skills are necessary.
  • Flexibility to adapt to the needs of participants and job demands.
  • Experience with DDA, LTSS, and ICM is a plus.
