Location Overview:

Situated in Gaylord, Minnesota, Michael Foods, Inc. is part of Minnesota's Healthy Heartland. Gaylord serves as the County Seat and is recognized as the central hub of Sibley County, located about an hour west of the Twin Cities.

Position Summary:

This role involves executing maintenance tasks throughout the facility during the night shift. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for addressing equipment failures, overseeing installations and startups, implementing process enhancements, and executing preventative maintenance programs. A key focus will be on improving machine reliability and managing facility capital investments.

Shift Details:

Hours: 6 PM - 6 AM, rotating night shifts

Compensation: $25 per hour (based on experience)

Shift Differential: $2.50 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond promptly to urgent production equipment needs.
  • Interpret diagrams, manuals, and specifications to repair and install mechanical systems.
  • Understand and apply knowledge of mechanical components such as belts, chains, and bearings.
  • Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for tracking maintenance activities.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical power transmission systems.
  • Work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including valves and filtration devices.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to uphold product quality.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in industrial maintenance or related fields.
  • Strong communication skills and basic math proficiency.

Preferred:

  • Training in OSHA standards, HAZMAT, and electrical safety.
  • Experience in food manufacturing environments.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to communicate effectively and perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 60 pounds.
  • Exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels.
