Job Summary

The State of South Carolina is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Community Social Work Supervisor to lead our Community Treatment Services division. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in planning, developing, and directing social work services and rehabilitative programs for juveniles in the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement social work services and rehabilitative programs for assigned community social workers.
  • Evaluate and assess the quality-of-service delivery and the effectiveness of policies and procedures through data collection and evaluation.
  • Provide clinical supervision for assigned community social workers.
  • Develop and implement social work policies and procedures to govern program and service delivery.
  • Meet regularly with Director of Community Social Work and communicate with Regional Administrators.
  • Visit county offices to provide supervision for SW staff and communicate with county supervisory staff.
  • Develop relationships between community staff and Community Social Workers.
  • Ensure continuity of service for juveniles involved with other agencies.
  • Initiate and participate in the development and implementation of reporting systems to generate management reports.
  • Manage the needs for supplies and other office needs for staff supervised.
  • Make recommendations for needed training to ensure best practice service delivery to youths and families.
  • Create, implement, and monitor in-service training programs for staff.
  • Manage EPMS documentation for assigned Social Workers.
Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in social work from a program accredited by a nationally recognized accrediting body for a social work program.
  • Licensed as LISW-CP by the Board of SW Examiners.
  • Thorough knowledge of state-level policies, procedures, functions, and interagency relationships and administrative practices, procedures, and standards pertaining to the practice of social work.
  • Ability to develop and coordinate special programs and projects related to rehabilitative services for delinquent adolescent males and females.
  • Ability to supervise, train, and evaluate professional staff.
  • Requires thorough knowledge of juveniles and multiple needs, including educational, emotional, and family issues.
  • Background in juvenile justice necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A master's degree and professional experience in a human service or social service program.
  • Licensed by the SC Board of SW Examiners with 5 years of experience as a professional social worker, and experience as a social work supervisor.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and personalities and supervise various levels of professional staff.
