About the Role:
O-I is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Unit Plant Manager to lead the total operation of the production lines of an assigned furnace on a 24 hour / 7 day a week basis.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maximizing production performance within established safety, quality and cost parameters through the line management system and continuous shift operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive the plant furnace to achieve key performance goals (Safety, Quality, Total Best Cost, Productivity, and Flexibility)
- Promote a Manufacturing Excellence culture that fosters continuous improvement
- Conduct production meetings and sponsor morning TPC meetings
- Lead and manage projects including upcoming furnace work and rebuild
- Successfully meet plant KPI's
Requirements:
- Proven management and continuous improvement skills
- Ability to collaborate with team members and support employee engagement
- Coaching & mentoring skills and the ability to handle personnel issues
- Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Adequate knowledge of informational systems & ability to analyze data
- Experience working in the Glass Manufacturing Industry
