We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Wexford Health Sources, Inc. in Clayton, NM.
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will be responsible for delivering patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This includes directing and guiding patient teaching activities and ancillary personnel, while maintaining standards of professional nursing.
Key Responsibilities- Assess physical, psychological, and psychosocial dimensions of patients within the healthcare unit and, as necessary, in the housing units.
- Apply knowledge of illnesses, injuries, and diseases using available resources in obtaining a health history and in the assessment process.
- Provide leadership to RNs, LPNs, MAs, CNAs, and other nursing paraprofessionals in patient care as related to medical aspects of patient care.
- Review and monitor all offenders receiving medications, as assigned, and maintain charts and records.
- Utilize therapeutic communication skills and effective interviewing techniques to elicit pertinent historical information and make appropriate referrals as required.
To be considered for this role, you must possess:
- A current, valid New Mexico Registered Nursing License.
- Current CPR Certification.
- A graduate degree from an accredited school of nursing. An Associate's Degree is required, with a Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- A minimum of one year of clinical experience, with correctional nursing experience a plus.
